Fall 2008. The Netherlands were one of many countries affected by the financial crisis. This unique glimpse behind the scenes introduces former politicians and financial supervisors who talk about the decisions they were forced to make in this ill-fated period.
Our banks seemed very safe. Until it turned out the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008 set off a global financial crisis that also infected the Netherlands. This documentary takes us back to this period, when Dutch leaders and supervisors were caught unawares by the monetary mayhem. Our economy and prosperity were at stake and politicians and financial experts were forced to play a game, the rules of which they still had to invent. The protagonists look back on these seven ill-fated days full of devilish decisions.
