Costa del Sol

Director: Louis van Zwol
A nocturnal assault on a couple lying in bed gets a completely different meaning when it gets clear what preceded the violent event. This brings this drama about the socially urgent theme of dementia to the key question in a few minutes: can or can’t one decide about someone else’s fate? In this film, the scope and depth of love, life and death become matters of almost inhuman responsibility.
The unemployed and drifting Sara has lost her key after a heavy night and an ultimate ‘walk of shame’. She can’t enter her house. This turns out to spark off a day full of seemingly small events that can lead to great changes. In her world full of hipsters, unemployment and after-parties, Sara is confronted with the meaning of life. Portrait of a generation of confused, graduated youngsters in a big city, who struggle with the economic crisis, setbacks and loneliness.
