Bennie, a self-willed boy with Down syndrome, turns 18. Now that he’s finally an adult, he wants a real job, happiness in love and his own place to live. But not everyone believes he can achieve this.
Now that Bennie (Wesley van Klink) finally turns 18, he jumps at the opportunity to demand an adult’s life. Bennie wants a job, an independent life and preferably happiness in love too. With this delightfully unsettling series, in his debut as a producer, Barry Atsma pays tribute to his younger brother Rimmert, who suffered from Down syndrome. Atsma conceived the series, in which Bennie's struggle for independence puts the other family members’ lives completely upside down. With his disarming humour, Bennie fights all the prejudices and turns out to be more of an example to others than expected.
