In his village on the Moroccan Atlantic coast, Fettah watches scores of European windsurfers coming and going. The young fisherman masters the sport himself. After meeting the Dutch girl Alexandra, he decides to risk the perilous crossing to Europe on a surfboard. The director was inspired by his own surfing experiences in Morocco. Hovering between poetry and realism, this drama not only captures the longing for freedom, but also what Fettah leaves behind: his little sister whom he confides in, the village life and the memories of his parents.
