In this experimental documentary, American avant-garde composer John Cage (1912-1992) is asked nineteen questions on various themes. The choice of subjects and the duration of his often colourful and sophisticated answers are determined by the probability calculus the composer regularly employed himself in ordering his music: the so-called ‘Cagean process’. One of four films under the header From Zero that Scheffer made in association with Cage’s fellow-composer Andrew Culver.
