Marjolein Busstra

Marjolein Busstra is a documentary filmmaker and photographer. With both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Photography, as well as a university bachelor’s degree in Art, Culture and Media Studies and a master’s degree in Film Studies, she laid a strong foundation for translating complex realities into intimate and urgent visual narratives. For House of Hope, she won the ‘Best International Feature Documentary’ award at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in Toronto in 2026.
