Zandvliet // Van Gogh

Regen in schuine strepen is the subtitle of this virtually wordless impression of the struggle by artist Robert Zandvliet with his source of inspiration Van Gogh. From the pure material - linseed oil, egg yolk, colour powders - to the creation on the wide canvas in his studio in Rotterdam. Zandvliet’s eyes reflect different stages of determination and doubt. Brushes and rollers do their job, the Stanley knife carves. The painting gets more and more abstract, but what about the trees?
