Shot over a period of two and a half years, in places rarely visited by people, producing unique footage of all sorts of animals and plants in the nature of Drenthe. In Assen, it was bigger than 007 and Star Wars.
For more than two and a half years, the filmmakers captured the nature of the Heart of Drenthe and Drents-Friese Wold National Park. They went to places rarely visited by people, registering the lives of all sorts of animals, plants and insects, including the rare pine marten and even rarer wryneck. The nature film smashed all box-office records in provincial capital Assen, even leaving behind Hollywood blockbusters such as James Bond and Star Wars.
