Afghan Dawood and Kurdish Berxwane live in Rotterdam. They meet through the music they love, but while a shared passion usually reconciles people, here it intensifies their disagreement.

Dawood came to the Netherlands from Afghanistan. He feels uprooted and tries to compensate the loss of identity by listening to Damboora music. The music of his heart reminds him of home. Berxwane is from Kurdistan and is every day in the street playing his tambura, an instrument he brought when he came to Rotterdam. The two men meet through Berxwane’s playing. While music usually brings people together, in this case it leads to a greater misunderstanding.
