A corpse is found in a lake. The documentary-maker observes five protagonists who look for clues after the discovery of the body. Who is this deceased person, how long has he been in the water and what was the cause of death? Everyday matters, like a cup of coffee or a joke, can exist side by side with the respectful care for the remains. In the hands of examiners and social workers, the mortal body takes on a different meaning: from found object, it becomes a human being again who after examination can return to the grieving family.
