For thirty years, De Kift have been playing the inter­na­tional stage with their poetic fanfare punk. In this musical docu­men­tary, frontman Ferry Heijne sets sail, looking for adven­ture and inspi­ra­tion. The port­holes frame the bleak winter land­scape. Along the way, Heijne listens to the life stories of people he meets. Their stories resound with lone­li­ness, melan­choly and perse­ver­ance: fixed ingre­di­ents in De Kift’s songs. The struggle of life inspires new compo­si­tions and turns out to be a beau­tiful ode to sadness.
