The second and third part of a documentary film project about people suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
The second and third part of a documentary film project about people suffering from Alzheimer's disease. The film follows several patients whose condition has degenerated so much that they have to be admitted to a nursing home. In the first instance this means a painful recognition for themselves that they are unable to continue to function independently. Their partners often face conflicting emotions. They are relieved to be freed of the heavy task of caring for the partner, while feeling guilty that they have abandoned their loved one. The film forms part of a major project in which several patients are followed for many years. The series was completed in 1994.
