Short animated film made with the so-called pixilation technique, in which live action is recorded frame by frame. In This Side Up, the director animates himself as an artist recovering from a coma. He tries to visualise his memories in a painting. The frame of the painting is the whole social environment that he works, sleeps and eats in. Days and nights go by. Gradually, the memory returns.
