Short documentary about the power figure that has been trapped in a European museum for over a century, and about activist Mwazulu Diyabanza, who wants to take the looted piece back home.
In a case in the Africa Museum in Tervuren, the nkisi of Ne Kuko is displayed, far from its Congolese home in the mountains of Boma. The mysterious power figure was stolen more than a century ago from its community and taken to Europe as colonial looted art. This short documentary tells about the history of Ne Kuko, and how the arrival of the colonists forever changed the country. With his actions, restitution activist Mwazulu Diyabanza hopes to kindle the debate about returning African objects to their native country.
