Psychological thriller, based on Saskia Noort's novel of the same name. Maria, a single mother and singer in a successful cover band, has a relationship with the dipsomaniac Geert. One day, she throws him out of the house, adding she will get rid of their child she is carrying. After the abortion, the threats begin. Maria is not taken seriously by anyone, if only because the family has a history of insanity. She and her two children hope to find some rest with her sister Ans, who lives in the parental home by the sea. But that is when the complications really start. Her house in Amsterdam burns down and Maria starts to seriously question her sense of reality. The film keeps the spectator in the dark until the last moment about the culprit - if there is one. Panoramic views of the Dutch coastline and the photogenic dunes, but also of the bustling city of Amsterdam, form the backdrop of this thriller.
