In her psychoses, Gioia had her greatest dreams and darkest nightmares. But reality allows little room for imagination. A dance documentary on the border of delusion and reality.
When Gioia danced, she let herself be swept away by the music to be fully absorbed by it. But since a few years things have changed. Gioia suffers from bipolar disorder. Anything reeking of exuberance is dangerous. To prevent ending up in a clinic again, she tries to lead a regular life. But the temptation remains: in her delusions, she experienced her darkest but also her most beautiful moments. The conflict between safety and adventure that we all know controls Gioia to an extreme degree. Her ecstasy and the exhaustion; dance makes it all visible again.
