When the grandma he has taken care of for years suddenly dies, Wessel turns inside more and more. While his family is preoccupied with the assessment of grandma's house, Wessel loses his grip on reality.
The quiet Wessel lives with his grandmother in a large house. He takes care of her, keeps her company and reads to her. When grandma suddenly passes away, his brothers and sister come on the scene. Wessel mistrusts them. They seem preoccupied with the assessment of the house. The house Wessel does not want to sell. From the numerous hallways and rooms, he spies on his relatives. The only person he seems to bear around him is Tessa, the homecare girl, but she keeps her distance. Wessel becomes increasingly introverted. He avoids questions about the what and the how surrounding grandma's demise. Does he actually know himself what happened? Gradually, he loses his grip on reality. Present, past and fantasy get muddled in his perception. A creaking floor, a squeaking door, a silhouette shuffling by; Wessel hears and sees things that may not be there at all. Piece by piece, the secrets unfold that take place within the walls of the house.
