The quiet Wessel lives with his grandmother in a large house. He takes care of her, keeps her company and reads to her. When grandma suddenly passes away, his brothers and sister come on the scene. Wessel mistrusts them. They seem preoccupied with the assessment of the house. The house Wessel does not want to sell. From the numerous hallways and rooms, he spies on his relatives. The only person he seems to bear around him is Tessa, the homecare girl, but she keeps her distance. Wessel becomes increasingly introverted.
