Musical adventure about 16-year-old Jasmine, who goes to her native Suriname to compete in a song contest with her friend and guitar player Stijn. Secretly, she also goes looking for her mother - and her roots.

Sixteen-year-old Jasmine is selected for a song contest in Suriname. Highly enthusiastic, she departs for her exotic native country with guitar player Stijn, but not just to compete. Unbeknownst to everyone, she goes looking for her mother. However, this search puts both her friendship with Stijn and her odds in the contest at stake. But then she makes a remarkable discovery that turns everything upside down. A warm and swinging film about discovering your roots, with music by artists such as Glen Faria and Kenny B.
