The films show the authors’ mainsprings and the way these are expressed in their books. Frans Weisz took on the portrait of Tommy Wieringa, the many-sided writer who had his breakthrough with his acclaimed best-seller Joe Speedboot. Besides novels, Wieringa writes travel accounts, columns, essays and critiques. In the TV programme De Grens, he explored the frayed edges of the Netherlands.
