Documentary series in twelve instalments celebrating the meeting between literature and cinema. The writers’ portraits form a cross section of the state of affairs in both disciplines. The films show the authors’ mainsprings and the way these are expressed in their books. Barbara Makkinga portrayed children’s books writer Gideon Samson. In 2010, the 25-year-old Samson was the youngest winner ever of a Zilveren Griffel with his book Ziek. Other award-winning publications include Zwarte zwaan and Overspoeld.
