Documentary series in twelve instalments celebrating the meeting between literature and cinema. The writers’ portraits form a cross section of the state of affairs in both disciplines. The films show the authors’ mainsprings and the way these are expressed in their books. In this episode, Simone de Vries portrays the Flemish Annelies Verbeke, writer of novels such as Slaap! and Dertig dagen and the collections of short stories Groener Gras and Veronderstellingen. In 2015, Verbeke won the prestigious F. Bordewijk Award.
