Salvatore

Director: Maarten Groen
When the life of Salvatore Luciano, who spends his last days in a nursing home, is made difficult by a crass caregiver, he decides to pick up his old metier one last time.

The Italian Salvatore Luciano spends his final days in a Dutch nursing home. Day in day out, he listens to Italian operas, lost in thought and reliving memories. He has a complicated relationship with caregiver Stefan, who mocks and harasses him. But Salvatore’s revenge is sweet. For one last time, he uses a tried and tested method to dispose of enemies - something he as a devout Catholic first has to ask God forgiveness for. Fine example of black humour.
