Documentary about artist Raquel van Haver, who for the creation of new work travels to her native country Colombia. Here, she finds inspiration with women fighting for social equality.
During a trip to her native country Colombia, artistRaquel van Haver gets acquainted with several strong women fighting for social equality in their communities. The documentary follows her back to the Netherlands, where she depicts these women as modern Maria figures for her exhibition 'Amo a la Reina' at the Bonnefanten Museum. During this intense creative process, Van Haver incorporates the impressions of her journey and reflects on her personal history as an adopted Colombian woman in the Netherlands.
