Paradise Drifters

Director: Mees Peijnenburg
Three homeless kids, Yousef, Chloe and Lorenzo, together leave for the south of Europe, looking to improve their lives. On their trip, they find security among each other, but their problems are chasing them. Raw feature debut full of compassion and - eventually - hope.
Two fine examples of filmmaking in this special programme. The characters in the selected films all take a trip, after which their relationship with the world, but especially with themselves changes. In Paradise Drifters, three youngsters with serious problems accidentally end up in a car en route to Marseille. During their journey, they encounter friendship, love and security among each other. In the short Charlotte’s Daydream, an astrologist decides to take the leap into space, giving her a completely new perspective on the earth. Sometimes you have to float very far to better see what is normally very close, and to value it.
