Thirteen-part children's series based on the book by Annie M.G. Schmidt. Otje is a tomboy who lives in the attic of the almost bankrupt Koperwiek Hotel with her temperamental father, the cook Tos. She has a secret tree house and is friends with Betsie the cat, Boef the dog and all the birds in the forest. But after the umpteenth quarrel, Tos is sacked and Otje goes out into the wide world with her father looking for work. This is a problem because Tos has lost his cook's diploma. The series turns into a minor road-movie around the town of Kokkelburg.
