Subdued drama about the internal struggle of a successful Cape Verdean medical student in Rotterdam. A mysterious African reminds him of a part of his life he had rather forgotten.
In calm, taut, almost documentary-looking images, Cabo depicts the ambivalent world of the young, Rotterdam-based Cape Verdean Artur. An ambitious medical student with a nice Dutch girlfriend. That’s who he wants to be. But then, in the library one day, an uncannily smiling African sits down at his table and demands a solution for a tricky problem. Artur is forced to face a part of his life he had rather forgotten.
