Feature about a filmmaker who wants to make a documentary about the life of the Hungarian director Mykosch. With the aid of shots from films he made in the past, the Hungarian talks about his experiences as a resistance fighter, refugee and Bohemian. The documentary maker is fascinated by Mykosch' story, but finds it increasingly difficult to separate fact from fiction. The Hungarian lies without batting an eyelid, tells true and false stories with the same aplomb and constructs theories only to ridicule them. In the cutting room, Mykosch is finishing his latest film. He just can't decide when the protagonist should die. Then the documentary maker realises that the character's death will also mark the end of Mykosch.
