Light-hearted TV series featuring songs by cabaret performer Wim Sonneveld about Holland in the 1950s. Prosperity is slowly gaining ground, but it seems to pass Bob by, as he is destined to become a coalman, like his father. Everything changes after a visit to the cabaret in the big city. His heart is stolen by both the theatre and the shopkeeper’s daughter Jeanne. Her parents run a business in modern household appliances and hope they will one day take over. What will Bob choose for?
