Film about coming to terms with war traumas in Cambodia.
People are often able to survive the most gruesome experiences at war, but the traumas they acquire from that they have seen and undergone only emerge after peace has returned. In Cambodia after a bloody and gruesome civil war, victims and war criminals have to work together to rebuild their country. Protagonist Kann Kall and Chhan Marideth have each found their own way of coming to terms with the past. Mindfields is the first part in a series of documentaries that filmmaker Jan van den Berg has made with psychiatrist Joop de Jong about coming to terms with war traumas in different cultures.
