Four young people care for actor and director Michel Van Dousselaere, who suffers from progressive aphasia. After his death, they and his widow Irma Wijsman, who directed this documentary, make a trip to northern Spain to scatter his ashes.
In 2014, actor and director Michel Van Dousselaere was diagnosed with a rare form of progressive aphasia, a brain condition due to which he would lose his power of speech and physically deteriorate. Michel’s widow and filmmaker Irma Wijsman portrayed the four young people who took pity on him and examined the impact the care for Michel had on them. Giving care at a young age has enriched them and, conversely, their presence gave her the opportunity to organise made-to-measure care for Michel, in a way that fitted him.
