With its touch of sadomasochism, Theo van Gogh's film Loos was inspired by the Zaandam fitting room murder case from 1984. The story focuses on the prominent criminal lawyer Willem Loos (played by Tom Jansen), who reluctantly takes on the defence of a nightclub owner suspected of a heinous sex murder. Intuitively, Loos senses that his client is guilty. When a mysterious woman crosses his path, the lawyer gradually gets entangled in the Rotterdam underworld.
