Lee Towers, Holland’s most famous crooner, the singing crane operator, the showman who sold out Ahoy time and again. Director Hans Heijnen followed Leen Huijzer in the build-up to the comeback concert he gave in 2011 in Ahoy, after an eleven-year absence. The rehearsals, the uncertainty, the performance, but also the situation at home at the kitchen table. ‘Geen woorden maar daden’ (actions speak louder than words) is a saying that seems just right for him, but the level-headed pro also turns out to be a bundle of emotions.
