Lachen is goud

In the silent pictures of Hollywood, Charlie Chaplin's droll gait and Laurel & Hardy's awkward squabbles sent many people roaring. During the film festival, in co-operation with Muziekcentrum Vredenburg, four classic slapsticks are screened. Buster Keaton's One Week (1920), The Rink (1916) by and with Charlie Chaplin, Big Business (1929) with Laurel and Hardy, and Billy Blazes, Esq. (1919) with Harold Lloyd are accompanied live by music written by Maud Nelissen and performed by the film orchestra The Sprockets.
