Skin-close portrait of Djarno (15), who grew up on a fun fair. Angry and defiant, he finds out his father has sold their main attraction, the Polyp. It is not easy to bid farewell to childhood.
Djarno visits his parents on the fun fair for a few days to celebrate his sister’s birthday. But why does he suddenly get so angry with her, while earlier he was so glad to see her? He is full of contradictory emotions, because he realises nothing ever stays the same. Unable to express his real feelings, he hides behind a grumpy attitude, but his eyes tell a different story. Whispering to his sister is the only way he can be himself. In his directing debut, David Eilander puts a teenager’s emotional struggle under a magnifying glass. Although Djarno is unable to let go of the past, the future seems inescapable.
