Gripping short film about an interpreter working from home who, on the final day of the year, gets the chance to really help someone. Nice for a change, after all the ungrateful clients.
Helen is an interpreter working from home via telephone, who helps people in various languages. A Spanish woman who wants to send a bouquet of roses with a note in Dutch, for example, or an angry German looking for recourse because he has not received an order. On New Year’s Eve, she is fed up when she gets a call that demands more personal involvement and empathy: the military police at Schiphol airport refuses to let through a Greek traveller, because he is unable to present his passport.
