Indictment of the corrupt jurisdiction and failing local and international NGOs in Congo. A Congolese lawyer examines a rape case in which the accused did not get a fair trial.
Closing part of a trilogy about sexual violence in the Congo, preceded by Fighting the Silence (2007) and Weapon of War (2009). Justice for Sale spotlights the brave and verbally very gifted Congolese lawyer Claudine Tsongo. When she brings to light an unfair process in which an alleged perpetrator was detained without any hard proof, it is clear how easy the judicial system can be bribed. Local and international NGOs seem to fail.
