The exhausting side of success: cabaret performer Jochem Myjer also wants the 100th show in Carré to be perfect to a tenth of a second. But there is also this disease at play... Documentary about one of Holland’s most successful and hardest working cabaret performers.
After three years of sold-out venues, cabaret performer Jochem Myjer wants to give his award-winning show Adem in, Adem uit a grand finale with its 100th performance at the Carré theatre in Amsterdam. For this marathon session, everything must be sacrificed and he lives like a monk. Anything for the ‘perfect show’. No easy task, especially since Myjer was diagnosed with a tumour in his neck in 2011 and he is far from his old self energy-wise. A unique glimpse behind the scenes, closely following the successful performer when he leaves the stage soaked and exhausted. The people around him, including his wife, want to protect him from his own boundless desire to please everyone. Because in the end this will make him aggrieve himself.
