Cheerfully, the young saxophone player Joan produces heavenly music. Until at a crucial audition she has to play by feel and threatens to lose control of her emotions.
With a seemingly innate optimism, 23-year-old Joan plays the saxophone. When she does audition for a prominent jazz school and is assigned to play by feel, she is confronted with negative emotions she had previously suppressed. Joan makes frantic efforts to resist these feelings and feel happy again. Will she manage to release control and find beauty again in the aspects of herself she’d rather not acknowledge?
