After a drastic medical diagnosis, artist Youandi is confronted with her unresolved past. In a hallucinatory inner world, memories, lyrics and interviews blend into a hybrid cinematographic experience.
While recording her debut album, singer Youandi receives a devastating diagnosis: multiple sclerosis, a disease that attacks and weakens the nervous system. As her physical body fails her, she seeks solace in music, memories of her mother and her artistic imagination. In this visual mix of documentary and fiction, Youandiexplores her past – marked by trauma, violence and self-destruction – and she confronts her memories. With her lyrics as her guide, she moves around her mental inner world and finds the strength to face up to her past and embrace her future.
