John Fernhout joined the allied troops that liberated the Netherlands. In The Last Shot, he shows Holland just before and after the liberation. Includes footage of the entry of the liberators in Amsterdam, the apprehension of NSB heavyweights and the exhumation of executed freedom fighters. The film also shows the massive devastation caused by the war, like deliberate floods, destroyed railway networks and sabotaged harbours and the film looks back on the Hunger winter.
