Artist Peter Greenaway races against the clock: full of plans, but how much time is left? His astute teenage daughter questions him and arrives at a blueprint of his life, in the form of an alphabet.
The fascinations of filmmaker, writer and artist Peter Greenaway can be perfectly captured in an alphabet, a form cut out for this encyclopaedist. In sometimes playful, sometimes serious conversations with his astute 16-year-old daughter Zoë – filmed by his wife – the family gets through to Greenaway's core. This results in an idiosyncratic portrait about creativity, collector’s mania and life’s obstacles. An artist, father, husband, man and human being fighting with his diminishing time.
