When top 10 criminal Frans Weeling is forced to hide on a wintry and desolate Texel from vengeful Nigerian rivals, he does not so much repent as sees the errors of his ways. The time he has to sit out with two accomplices on the deserted island turns the already reticent Weeling into an almost contemplative personality. Realising his own insignificance, the gangster boss sheds his old skin like a snake. Once back in the Amsterdam underworld, he realises his days are forever over.
