Three friends immerse themselves in the Surinamese jungle in search of the mysterious Fort Buku, where fled Surinamese freedom fighters sought refuge. A graceful adventure that teaches the threesome something about their past.
During history class, Rinio, Marvin and Dogla are moved by the story of the mysterious Fort Buku, once a place of refuge for Boni freedom fighters. When the three friends hear about the unsolved disappearance of the fort, they decide to investigate for themselves in the Surinamese jungle. Director Loëlle Monsanto established her reputation with the Sranan Folktales series, for which she adapted Surinamese ghost stories. This mysterious youth film containing a lot of humour also incorporates on the supernatural. What begins as an adventurous trip through the woods eventually leads the threesome to a connection with their hidden roots.
