In China’s Pearl River Delta, four thousand young scientists are busy charting the DNA of plants, humans and animals. They are working towards a world where people’s IQ can be influenced and animals and people can easily be cloned. China has few legal impediments to conducting this type of research, and capital is not lacking either. The scientists want to contribute to 'progress'. But reality is unmanageable and does not just consist of bits, bytes and algorithms for them either.
