When Sam, after his mother’s death, reaches out to his father, a self-declared sect leader, it turns out he is not the only one longing for recognition.
Father and son have lost touch with each other for years. After his mother has succumbed to breast cancer, Sam launches a search. It turns out his father is playing the sect leader at a run-down farm; upon his arrival, Sam finds him and the commune members in the midst of a cow’s ritual wedding. The news about mom’s death seems to fall on deaf ears, but when Sam finds a cassette tape containing his parents’ wedding music, he sees an opening to get through to the enigmatic man.
