Online documentary combines behind-the-screens videos and photographs in an intimate portrait of campaigner Tammy Howard at the time of the Standing Rock protest against the installation of an oil pipeline.
For this intimate online documentary, radio producer Laura Stek went to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in North Dakota to register the Sioux Indians’ protest against the planned Dakota Access pipeline. Illustrated by behind-the-screens photographs and videos, we witness the last days of the protest through the eyes of Tammy Howard, a gay activist standing firm with her partner to the very last moment. Popup screens put the Sioux protest in a broader context.
