Crime pic full of black humour about a rather unsuccessful yet pretentious Amsterdam-based writer, who becomes the target of a round-up. In the late 1990s, Gerard F. Zwaen is in a predicament. He is in the midst of a divorce, his latest book is not taken seriously and he has serious money problems. His financial stringency is abruptly solved when Zwaen finds a bag of money on the spot where his honest accountant has been murdered in cold blood. He steals the bag. One worry less, but soon the author has three colourful gents on his heels: a national detective, a hashish importer and a corrupt tax inspector.
