Emotionally charged drama about the love against all odds that teenager Cobain feels for his addicted and heavily pregnant mother. When she refuses to change her extreme life style, he takes action.
This raw mother-son drama, which primarily makes you see and feel things, betrays Leopold’s preference for stories about outcasts, those who have to plod to make something of their lives. Cobain (15) runs away from his foster family, because he is worried about his homeless, addicted mother Mia. When he insists that she look for help for herself and her forthcoming baby, they have a terrible blowout. Not much is to be expected from Mia's ex, pimp Wickmayer, either. Desperate, Cobain forces her to go in rehab. Then, tragedy strikes. At the movie première at the Berlinale, rookie actor Bas Keizer received praise for his impressive debut performance.
