The Western genre, Koolhoven style. In the American pioneer era of the late 1800s, a young woman has to break free from the grasp of The Reverend, a cruel zealot.
Labelled by some as a feminist Western, as well as a calvinistic one, this project took Martin Koolhoven many years to get off the ground. Seemingly conventional, but completely moulded to his ways, this earthly, epic triller with mythical traits is set at the end of the nineteenth century, during the American pioneer era. In four chapters, the story unfurls of a young woman who has to break free from the grasp of The Reverend, a cruel, religious zealot. A story about guilt and retribution, strength and the urge to survive.
