The work culture and organisation of the Amsterdam fire brigade must become more inclusive. This causes friction at fire station Dirk, where commander Gerrie is sorry to see his familiar work environment change.
The fire brigade of Amsterdam-Amstelland has to change and become more inclusive, and this causes friction. Especially for team leader Gerrie, with his ‘old’ mentality, who has to witness how his familiar fire station Dirk close to the Museum Quarter is shut down. How will Gerrie later implement the rules imposed from above? And why is there so much resistance, actually? Documentary filmmaker Saskia Gubbels is present when a fire breaks out or someone has to be reanimated, but also registers the thorny discussions with fire chiefs and policy makers. She is even an unnoticed witness of group discussions where emotions occasionally flare.
